My personal favorite book is Point of Impact by Stephen Hunter. It is about a man in the United State Marine Corps, Bob Lee Swagger, whose partner was killed during a particularly difficult mission. Swagger is a Marine sniper, and one of the best. In this book, he is set up by a shady government agency and asked to plan, but not execute, the assassination of the President of the United States. It turns out that they were planning on framing Swagger since the beginning, and when it all goes down, Swagger’s life is shattered and he is on the run. The majority of the book is his quest to clear his name and return to normal. The reason that this book is my favorite is because of the amount of detail put into it, and the fast-paced action that is depicted throughout.
